To promote the "Greater Bay Area Food Safety Standard System"

In order to support the promotion and development of the Greater Bay Area proposed by the State, the China-Hong Kong Food Safety Exchange Association, led by the Honorary President, Mr. Tam Yaochung, a member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, and representatives of food enterprises supplying Hong Kong, visited Huizhou Shunxing Food Co., LTD., the parent company of Tang Shunxing Poultry (Hong Kong) Co., LTD., on 6 August 2019.


The delegation first visited the breeding base of Yangcun Town, Boluo County, Huizhou City, to learn about modern chicken breeding technology, equipment and relevant measures for disease prevention and control. Modern farming uses water system to regulate the temperature of the chicken house and seal management to prevent cross-infection between chickens and the outside world. The probiotic feed enhances the natural immunity of chickens, reduces the chance of disease occurrence without the addition of antibiotics, and maintains food safety.


In the afternoon, the delegation held a symposium on "Food Safety Standards System in the Greater Bay Area" with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Development Institute of Sun Yat-sen University at the headquarters of Huizhou Shunxing Food Co., LTD. The participants expressed their views on the lack of uniform food safety standards in the Greater Bay Area, and proposed the establishment of an international standard including food labelling to enhance consumer confidence in food safety. And assist law enforcement agencies to reduce duplication of law enforcement, enhance efficiency and speed up the convenience of food circulation in the Greater Bay Area.


Finally, the delegation visited the slaughter production workshop and distribution center of Huizhou Shunxing Food Co., LTD.
