Corporate Interview: Tang Shun Xing Expands into Prepared Meals, Targeting the Belt and Road

When the name Tang Shun Xing is mentioned, many instantly associate it with chicken and roasted meats. As Hong Kong's largest supplier of fresh chilled poultry, the company has evolved into a national leading enterprise of agricultural industrialization spanning the entire industry chain, including poultry farming, processing, cold-chain logistics, and product sales. Tang Shun Xing Poultry (Hong Kong) General Manager Tang Zhenfeng revealed that the group plans to expand into the pre-made roasted meat segment and aims to reach every corner of the world where there are Chinese communities, targeting countries along the Belt and Road Initiative such as Southeast Asia.
To bolster its Prepared Meals business, Tang Zhanyao, General Manager of Huizhou Shun Xing Foods, disclosed that the company has established the mainland's largest Hong Kong-style roasted meat production line in Henan, with a strong focus on expanding both export and domestic sales. The first phase of the plant involved an investment of around 300 million yuan, with the second phase at about RMB 500 million, set to commence operations by the end of this year. Their aspiration is to become a leading player in Cantonese-style roasted meat pre-made dishes within three to five years.
Hong Kong Business Accounts for 60% of Total Revenue
Tang Zhanyao shared that the company intends to extend its operations into Southeast Asia, having entered Thailand in April, with sights set next on Singapore, Malaysia, and other Belt and Road countries. When queried about the revenue distribution between Hong Kong and Mainland China, he emphasized that Hong Kong remains the primary source of income, constituting roughly 60% of total revenue, while the Mainland contributes 40%.
Tang Shun Xing currently operates across three major product lines: fresh chilled poultry, roasted meat delicacies, and its chain of Tang Shun Xing Roasted Meat stores. Tang Zhenfeng stated that the company is actively integrating digital systems into agricultural breeding, backed by automation, digitization, and intelligent equipment, to foster high-quality livestock farming. He further remarked that the company is dedicated to developing a more diverse and premium range of poultry products to cater to consumer preferences, thereby reinforcing its leadership and competitive edge in the industry.
Tang Zhenfeng divulged that the company boasts three industrial parks spanning a total area of 150,000 square meters, with an anticipated annual processing capacity of over 241,000 tons of poultry meat. Additionally, it possesses four breeding bases and 26 customs-export registered breeding sites, projected to achieve an annual output of over 115 million birds.
