As the largest frozen poultry supplier in Hong Kong, Managing Director of Tang Shun Xing Poultry (Hong Kong), Mr. Tang Zhenfeng, emphasizes that the company has "a connected sequence" full industry chain, from breeding to sales, ensuring consistent product quality.


Despite global economic instability, Tang Shun Hing has felt some impact but benefit from the persistent market demand for poultry among citizens and its diversified sales strategy. Mr. Tang notes that even in tough economic times, people still need to have a meal, especially in Cantonese culture where chicken is a staple ingredient for both dining out and home cooking. However, he points out a shift in consumer behavior: large family gatherings that once involved preparing meals at home,however the smaller household is in vogue. a preference for dining at restaurants even when there are multiple diners. The rise of fast food as a solution for daily meals also indicates a change in overall consumption patterns.


Looking ahead to expand internationally


Tang Shun Xing is actively developing a program to facilitate easier procurement for small and medium-sized businesses. The company's in-house developed app, set for launch later this year, aims to streamline order processing and meet market demands. With a production site in Henan province scheduled to commence operations in the second half of the year, primarily targeting overseas markets, the company has already successfully ventured into Thailand early this year with its poultry sales. Entry into the European market, however, is being approached gradually due to policy considerations.


Currently, Tang Shun Xing operates eight outlets in Hong Kong. Mr. Tang acknowledges that the economic downturn has affected branches located near border crossings like Sheung Shui and Fanling, which have experienced a decrease in "cross-border shopping." Nonetheless, outlets farther from these areas are performing better. The future direction for the company is geared towards online expansion to cater to a wider range of needs. Discussing Pre-cooked Food, Mr. Tang observes that the demand in Hong Kong is higher compared to the mainland, where the market is still in its nascent stage.
